OCAF is located at 34 School Street in Historic Watkinsville Georgia.


The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF)  is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity that is not supported by tax dollars of any kind. All of our programs are open to the public regardless of what county they live in. OCAF members receive valuable discounts on classes, workshops and special events. Although membership is suggested it is not required.

THE GREAT FOLK PARADE: From Finster Forward
Exhibition Dates: January 23 – February 20, 2015
Opening Reception: Friday, January 23, 6-8 PM

The 'Great Folk Parade' is the largest exhibit of self-taught artists of the south in recent history. Included in the exhibit will be art in the form of textiles, paintings and objects that defy a category. Don't miss this rare opportunity to add artists and vintage masterworks to your collection! Exhibit is curated by artist & collector, Peter Loose.

CRESCENT LANE RUG HOOKERS
Exhibition Dates: January 23 – February 20, 2015
Opening Reception: Friday, January 23, 6-8 PM

Using a wide range of fabric colors and textures, the Crescent Lane Rug Hookers create complex designs showcasing the artisan’s unique ability to express ideas through this engaging medium. Whether contemporary or traditional in style, each rug is a true work of art.

Pottery Open Studio
Open studio time is available for adults who have previous experience in OCAF ceramics classes or other ceramics studios. Days & hours: change from week to week.

Always wanted to try pottery but intimidated by the thought of wheelthrowing? Want to move beyound wheelthrowing? This is the class for you! Jenna will learn basic handbuilding techniques that will enable students to form clay into their own visions. 
Surface Design and Enhancement

Surface techniques include: carving/incising, colored slip inlays,slip trailing and sponge printing, slip/oxide resist, terra sigillata fabrication and application. If time allows the raku kiln will be used.

This six-week intensive course for beginners will cover pottery basics and introduce you to the joy of throwing pottery on the wheel.
