The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF)  is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity that is not supported by tax dollars of any kind. All of our programs are open to the public regardless of what county they live in. OCAF members receive valuable discounts on classes, workshops and special events. Although membership is suggested it is not required.

YOUTH ART MONTH - Oconee County Schools
Exhibition Dates: February 27 – March 26, 2015
Opening Reception: Friday, February 27, 4-6 PM

OCAF's annual exhibit in celebration of Youth Art Month is a fun and wondrous event. The exhibit features works of art from Oconee County's public and private schools, grades K-12 and always amazes with the quality of colorful, imaginative and variety of work produced by these young artists.

UNG Oconee Campus Gallery
Exhibition Dates: March 5 - April 2, 2015
Opening Reception: Thursday, March 5, 5 PM

Rob Matre, of Atlanta's Matre Gallery, will select work by members of the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation for this juried exhibit in the Oconee Campus Gallery.

SOUTHWORKS 20TH ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Exhibition Dates: April 10 – May 8, 2015
Opening Reception: Friday, April 10, 6-9 PM

The Southworks Juried Art Exhibition is a national juried art exhibition that OCAF has been holding for years. Since its inception, it has been one of the premier art exhibitions in the region as it brings in several hundred applications from talented artists across the nation. This year's Juror,Will South (Chief Curator for the Columbia Museum of Art in Columbia, South Carolina,  Chief Curator at the Dayton Art Institute, Dayton Ohio) will choose the exhibit works from the over 425 pieces of art submitted this year.

JAN PERKINS: Art, Innovation & Technology
Exhibition Dates: April 10 – May 8, 2015
Opening Reception: Friday, April 10, 6-9 PM

Jan Perkins, an internationally known artist and designer, combines innovative techniques with her formal art training in traditional mediums to create a vibrant and unique collection of animal portraiture. Her digital fine art and mixed media resin painting are featured in this year's Southworks Director's Choice Exhibit.

  Surface Design and Enhancement

Surface techniques include: carving/incising, colored slip inlays,slip trailing and sponge printing, slip/oxide resist, terra sigillata fabrication and application. If time allows the raku kiln will be used.
Wheel Throwing for Beginners

If you have ever wondered if you would enjoy the art of pottery, this is the class for you! This six-week intensive course for beginners will cover pottery basics and introduce you to the joy of throwing pottery on the wheel. Cups, bowls, saucers, and other utilitarian forms will be covered. Come prepared to get dirty and have fun!
